May 5, 2020, Adrian, Michigan – Sister Nancy Murray, OP, continues her family tradition of acting with a slightly different twist. While her brother, Bill Murray, has captured the spotlight through his many comedic roles in movies, Sister Nancy turns the spotlight on St. Catherine of Siena, a 14th-Century Dominican mystic and reformer. She has brought the saint and her passionate personality to life throughout the world since 2000. May 5, 2020, Washington, D.C. – Sister Raghad Saeed, OP, a Dominican Sister of St. Catherine of Siena of Iraq, experienced challenges even before beginning a doctorate program in Nanotechnology at Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C. Her dream of doing doctoral work in physics was suspended in 2014 when her community was forced to flee their convents with the arrival of ISIS. In the Spring 2020 issue of Catholic U, Sister Raghad tells the story of the community’s flight from Mosul, their return, and the opportunity to revive her dreams and earn her doctorate, thanks in part to the intervention of Adrian Dominican Sister Donna Markham, OP, then a member of the Board of Trustees of Catholic University of America.
