August 17, 2017, San Francisco, California – Dignity Health placed first among the 100 winners of the Candidate’s Choice Awards, honoring the Best Places to Interview in 2017, according to job candidates. The award was made by Glassdoor, one of the world’s largest job sites.

One of the largest health care networks in the nation, Dignity Health serves in 22 states. Its 400 health care centers include Dominican Hospital in Santa Cruz, California, and St. Rose Dominican Hospitals in Henderson and Las Vegas, Nevada – hospitals sponsored by the Adrian Dominican Sisters.

Dignity Health gained the top rating in a list of companies from a variety of industries, including General Mills, General Motors, Walt Disney Company, Starbucks, FedEx, the YMCA, and Delta Airlines. Dignity Health received an impressive overall interview experience rating of 93 percent, based on positive interview experience ratings, interview duration, and level of interview difficulty shared by the candidates on Glassdoor throughout the past year.

Glassdoor noted several themes in candidates’ feedback that led to Dignity Health’s top spot on the list. These include clear expectations set by the interviewers, sharing of useful information about the position, and a range of questions from the interviewer and an invitation to the candidate to ask questions.

“We are honored by this award because we believe in demonstrating humankindness in all that we do, especially in our conversations with prospective team members,” Darryl Robinson, Chief Human Resources Officer, wrote in announcing the award. “In the last year, we have implemented a behavioral-based interview process, manager training, and standardized job descriptions. …This new approach helps us pinpoint consistent technical competencies, as well as cultural fit and an applicant’s commitment to our patients.”

June 30, 2017, Las Vegas, Nevada – The vision of Dignity Health-St. Rose Dominican hospitals for four neighborhood hospitals is a step closer to reality after the June 15, 2017, ribbon-cutting ceremony for the hospital in North Las Vegas.

Sister Kathleen McGrail, OP, offers the blessing.

St. Rose Dominican, sponsored by the Adrian Dominican Sisters, broke ground for the 20,000-square-foot hospital in the spring of 2016. The hospital formally opens on June 30. During the remainder of 2017, the other three neighborhood hospitals will be opened: July 24, August 16, and early November.

Sister Kathleen McGrail, OP, told the Las Vegas Review-Journal that the neighborhood hospitals were planned to meet the needs of people who are underserved or unserved.  The hospitals are designed so each patient can be seen by a physician and two nurses.
