May 17, 2017, Miami Shores, Florida – The School of Podiatric Medicine at Barry University had much to celebrate as the school neared the close of the second semester. 

Podiatry students took the time to wash the feet of local people who are homeless and to provide nail and cuticle care, as well as general information on foot care. The school has participated for more than 10 years in this annual program, hosted by the First United Methodist Church of Miami. Read more

In addition, 100 percent of the school’s 2017 graduates have been placed in residency programs – compared to a national average of 92.66 percent. The graduates will serve residencies throughout Florida, in the northeastern portion of the United States, and as far away as Houston, Texas, and Seattle, Washington. Read more

Three of Barry’s podiatry students were elected to serve on the American Podiatric Medical Students’ Association (APMSA). Tyler Prager (Class of 2019) was elected as Chair of the President’s Committee. Marissa Venero (Class of 2019) will serve as the APMSA liaison to the Council of Teaching Hospitals. Thomas Corona Jr. was elected APMSA liaison to corporate relations. Read more
