Regina Dominican High School’s Leadership Scholars Celebrate Women's History Month Online
Specify Alternate Text

April 14, 2020, Wilmette, Illinois – When the Leadership Scholars at Regina Dominican High School had to pivot their Women’s History Month activities from on-campus to online because of coronavirus stay-at-home orders, they didn’t miss a beat.

Freshmen went from developing a 3-D gallery walk to an engaging slide presentation. Sophomores had planned a series of lunchtime activities in the cafeteria, but moved quickly to daily deliver virtual activities about women in leadership and quizzes on topics such as the pink tax.

The juniors developed meaningful leadership tips for high school girls that students can put into practice in their daily lives, and seniors quickly banded together remotely to develop impactful infographics that illustrated positive trends and opportunities for female advancement.

Through the Leadership Scholars program, high-achieving Regina Dominican High School students develop their intellectual and leadership skills by conducting research and writing and presenting a paper on global topics such as energy, health and science, individual and cultural identity, and global finances and economics. Leadership Scholars is one of the programs of the high school’s Leadership Institute, directed by Jennifer Herrington.
