September 16, 2019, Grosse Pointe, Michigan – The Dominican Literacy Center (DLC) – the first of the Adrian Dominican Sisters’ seven literacy centers – marks its 30th anniversary this year, giving Kimberly Williams, Executive Director, a good opportunity to reflect on the difference that the Center has made in the lives of so many residents in Detroit. In an article by Jody McVeigh published in The Grosse Pointe News, Kimberly speaks of the DLC’s goal, to empower people and give them confidence and the ability to advocate for themselves through improved literacy skills.
