Pray with Us

Spiritual Life

The spiritual life of the Adrian Dominican Sisters on the Motherhouse campus revolves daily around individual prayer and contemplation and common liturgies, including Morning Prayer, Mass, and Vespers. Reconciliation, communal anointing, and other sacramental celebrations grace our calendars, as do Feast Day celebrations.

In addition, retreats, meditations, celebrations of Earth’s movements through equinoxes and solstices, and other forms of prayer and mindfulness are celebrated.

The grounds of the Motherhouse also offer lovely places for prayer and contemplation, including the Weber Garden, the Chartres Cathedral-style labyrinth, the Cosmic Walk/Nature Path, and Congregation cemetery.

Spirituality Enactment

One of the five Enactments adopted at our General Chapter 2022 was the following:

"Living in a time of global chaos and Paschal hope, and rooted in our Dominican tradition, we recognize our spiritual longings and those of the world. We commit to deepening our spirituality, attending to the evolutionary awakening of human consciousness, and living into the transformation to which we are called both personally and communally."

The Spirituality Enactment Circle is occasionally publishing reflections; recent ones will be linked here.

Prayer and Liturgies

The Adrian Dominican Sisters invite you to join us in praying this Prayer for the Progress of People each day, seeking racial justice and equality and a human society built on love and peace.

During this election year, the Leadership Conference of Women Religious (LCWR) is hosting a virtual prayer space during the Republican and Democratic National Conventions and Elections.

Campus liturgies, open to the public, usually take place in the Dominican Life Center’s St. Catherine Chapel at 10:30 a.m. ET Tuesday-Friday and on Sunday. Our Congregation hosts Peace Prayers during Lent, Advent, and Season of Creation (fall) and Taizé prayer services during Easter and Christmas; these are also live streamed, see our live stream page for upcoming events.
