January 14, 2021, Adrian, Michigan – The General Council of the Adrian Dominican Sisters issued the following statement regarding COVID-19 at the Motherhouse Campus:
After more than nine months of no cases of COVID-19 among resident Sisters, we are now experiencing an outbreak among both Sisters and Co-workers at the Dominican Life Center. The care and safety of our Sisters and Co-workers have been and remain our primary concern. We continue to practice stringent protocols, including quarantines, to mitigate further spread of the virus.
Our prayers rise like incense for all impacted by this global health crisis: the sick and dying, their families, and all healthcare workers and people everywhere who generously and selflessly provide essential services to each and every one of us. Please join us in this prayer.

We are aware that the deceased are still alive because of the promise of the Resurrection. They've moved forward. Oh Lord, give them eternal rest and let light shine upon them always.
Excellent blog. It was a pleasure to read your content. This was a pretty enjoyable read for me. I've bookmarked it and can't wait to read more from it. Continue your fantastic work!
The COVID-19 situation can change rapidly, and staying on top of the latest information is important to maintain personal and community safety.
When I asked for prayers for the Dominican community during these days of out break, it was when 6 sisters had died. A response back to me from the prayer chain sister was as she looked out the window, six sparrows lifted off toward the heavens. In faith, we pray they fly to the heavens in freedom.
I just learned of the covid outbreak yesterday and I am so sorry that some of your Sisters were lost to this horrible virus. You are all in my prayers. I know there are Sisters there in residence that not only taught me academics but to have Faith and to Love our Lord. God Bless you all.
I first heard of this sad news yesterday . I attended a college in my undergraduate years established by the Adrian Dominican order. My son recently graduated from it as well.I thank the sisters of this order for their work at Barry University. My heart felt prayers go out to all the religious at the mother house . May God bless and keep those who have passed on to Him.🙏🏼
