January 30, 2020, Adrian, Michigan – Due to popular demand, Sister Esther Kennedy, OP, repeats the seven-part series, “Painting the Stars: Science, Religion, and Evolving Faith.” The series is held from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. Mondays in February and March at Weber Retreat and Conference Center.
The topics for each talk are as follows:
Participants read selected materials before each session, then together watch a 20-minute video and join in a guided discussion. All materials for study are provided.
The cost is $30 for the series or $5 for each individual session. Registration is required and is available at www.webercenter.org; click on “programs.” Registration is also available by calling 517-266-4000 or emailing [email protected]. Limited scholarships are available.

May 31, 2019, Adrian, Michigan – Members of the Lenawee County community engaged in a deep, personal discussion of white privilege and racism, thanks to a special May 16 program sponsored by the Adrian Dominican Sisters, the City of Adrian Human Relations Commission, the Lenawee Branch of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP), and the Southeastern Michigan Migrant Resource Council. After listening to the panel discussion on the topic, participants shared their own experiences and understanding of racism and white privilege among others in small groups.
