May 15, 2019, Washington, D.C. – Archbishop Wilton Gregory of Atlanta will be installed as the new Archbishop of Washington, D.C., a key See in the United States, on Tuesday, May 21, 2019. During a press conference in Washington, D.C., announcing the decision by Pope Francis, Archbishop Gregory credited Adrian Dominican teachers at St. Carthage Grammar School in Chicago with inspiring him to convert to Catholicism. 

After being ordained a priest for the Archdiocese of Chicago in 1973, he was installed as Auxiliary Bishop of Chicago in 1983; the seventh Bishop of the Diocese of Belleville, Illinois, in 1994; and as the sixth Archbishop of Atlanta in 2005. He served as President of the United States Catholic Conference (USCCB) from 2001 to 2004.

May 14, Adrian, Michigan – United Movement for Peace invites all people of faith and of good will to its Holy Hour for Peace from 3:00 to 4:00 p.m. Sunday, June 2, 2019, in St. Catherine Chapel at the Dominican Life Center of the Adrian Dominican Sisters. 

United Movement for Peace has been initiated by the Light of Church community in Deerfield, Michigan, in collaboration with the Adrian Dominican Sisters Adrian Crossroads Mission Chapter and the Congregation’s Office of Justice, Peace and Integrity of Creation.

St. Catherine Chapel is on the campus of the Adrian Dominican Sisters, 1257 E. Siena Heights Drive, Adrian. Enter the Eastern-most driveway of the complex and follow the signs to the Dominican Life Center.
