February 9, 2019, Adrian, Michigan – In her workshop, An Invitation to Feminist Interpretation of the Scriptures, Grand Rapids Dominican Sister Barbara Reid, OP, invites participants to understand how a feminist interpretation of the Bible promotes equal dignity and value for women and men. The workshop is offered 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Saturday, February 23, 2019, at Weber Retreat and Conference Center.

Sister Barbara is Professor of New Testament Studies and the Vice President and Dean of Academic Affairs at Catholic Theological Union in Chicago. She served as general editor for the Wisdom Commentary Series, a 58-volume feminist commentary on the Bible, and is Past President of the Catholic Biblical Association of America. 

The $50 cost for the workshop includes lunch. Registration is required and is available at www.webercenter.org; click on “programs.” Registrations may also be made by contacting Weber Center at 517-266-4000 or [email protected].

February 8, 2019, Adrian, Michigan – A special Holy Hour in preparation for Lent will be held from 3:00 to 4:00 p.m. Sunday, February 24, 2019, at St. Catherine Chapel in the Dominican Life Center of the Adrian Dominican Sisters’ Motherhouse Campus, 1257 E. Siena Heights Drive, Adrian. 

Join with others in seeking truth, love, compassion, and peace during an hour of sacred readings, silent reflection, and music. All are invited to enter the unfolding mystery of the Lenten Season through this hour of prayer.

Use the campus’ eastern driveway off Siena Heights Drive. Parking is adjacent to the main entrance.
