September 11, 2015, Detroit, Michigan – Sister Noreen O’Connell, OP, who has helped Catholics in the Archdiocese of Detroit through the annulment process for 40 years, expressed great joy at the recent call of Pope Francis to streamline the process.
“The annulment issue has kept too many people away from the church for too long,” she recently told The Detroit Free Press. In the article, she further describes the trials that many Catholics have undergone in seeking annulments and the delays that have often taken place. Read the entire article by Patricia Montemurri.

I am a divorced catholic and my marriage was annuled after 3 children and 11 years of marriage. This has been a troubling situation for me for way to many years. Now the age of 76, I still find many questions with this process. How can this process be granted when the spouse has had an affair and left his wife and three young children to fen for themselves while this spent our savings on his mistress. I am so confused with this process. I had twelve years of catholic education with 2 priest in my family. I am not sure any priest or religious person can understand marriage and grant an anullment when they have not lived it. I am against this process......Ms. Hagerman
