March 16, 2019, Omaha, Nebraska – Sister Patricia Siemen, OP, Prioress of the Adrian Dominican Sisters, will speak at a June 27-29, 2019, national conference to inspire leaders of Catholic parishes and schools to integrate the message of Pope Francis’ environmental encyclical, Laudato Si’. This first of three biennial conferences, to be held at Creighton University in Omaha, is organized by the university and Catholic Climate Covenant.
Before her election as Prioress, Sister Pat, an attorney, founded and directed the Center for Earth Jurisprudence, which “seeks to advance legal principles that will protect nature.” The Center also offers courses, publications, and events to educate the public about the inherent rights of nature and the human responsibility to protect Earth.
