February 9, 2019, Adrian, Michigan – In her workshop, An Invitation to Feminist Interpretation of the Scriptures, Grand Rapids Dominican Sister Barbara Reid, OP, invites participants to understand how a feminist interpretation of the Bible promotes equal dignity and value for women and men. The workshop is offered 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Saturday, February 23, 2019, at Weber Retreat and Conference Center.

Sister Barbara is Professor of New Testament Studies and the Vice President and Dean of Academic Affairs at Catholic Theological Union in Chicago. She served as general editor for the Wisdom Commentary Series, a 58-volume feminist commentary on the Bible, and is Past President of the Catholic Biblical Association of America.

January 31, 2019, Adrian, Michigan – If you’ve always wanted to try writing or if you’re an experienced writer hoping to improve your skills, Weber Retreat and Conference Center offers two opportunities for beginning and experienced writers. Both are facilitated by Sister Tarianne DeYonker, OP, a certified Amherst Writers and Artists Leader and a published author.

Capturing the Gems” is a five-week, online program in which writers meet via their computers or tablets from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesdays, February 13, 2019, to March 13, 2019. This series encourages writers to tell their own story as only they can. 

“Writing in the New Energy of Spring,” offered from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Saturday, April 6, 2019, invites participants to write and share their own works and to listen to the creative writing of others.
