(1929-2016) Sister Angelica McGuire, baptized Patricia McGuire, was born on March 14, 1929, in Snoqualmie, Washington. She was the fifth of seven children born to Michael and Mary Ellen (Carney) McGuire. Her father worked for Weyerhaeuser, a lumber mill company. The family lived in the company town in Snoqualmie (also known for a while as Snoqualmie Falls) until 1931, when the Great Depression took its toll and the family returned to Seattle.
