Three Adrian Dominican Sisters Listed among 15 ‘Women Firsts’ in Lansing Diocese

February 20, 2018, Lansing, Michigan – Three Adrian Dominican Sisters were among 15 women featured by Faith Magazine of the Diocese of Lansing as women who were first in their field or their office. The 15 women are highlighted on the website of Faith Magazine. The Adrian Dominican Sisters on the list are:

Sister Donna Markham, OP, former Prioress of the Adrian Dominican Congregation and the first woman to serve as President and CEO of Catholic Charities USA.
The late Sister Dorita Wotiska, OP, first female Superintendent of Schools for the Diocese of Lansing.
Sister Marilyn Barnett, OP, first female Director of the Office of Worship for the Diocese of Lansing.

Video Takes Viewers into Lives of Angela House Residents

December 22, 2015, Houston, Texas – In a moving video, high school student Kyra Link takes viewers into the new lives of formerly incarcerated women who, as residents of Angela House, are finding their way back into the community. Founded in 2001 by Sister Maureen O’Connell, OP, Angela House offers the women basic necessities such as food and shelter; therapy; education and job training; help in finding permanent housing; Scripture study and centering prayer; wellness and cooking classes, creative arts; and after-care.
