What's Happening

April 23, 2018, Adrian, Michigan – Weber Retreat and Conference Center’s monthly Lunch N Learn series will offer participants some practical advice on finances – as well as tips on different ways that people can enjoy some leisure time this summer. All are invited to bring a lunch and enjoy the beverages and desserts provided by Weber Center during the 12:15 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. sessions.

Topics for the summer series are as follows:

• Tuesday, May 8, 2018: Kyrie Bristle and Erik Gable, staff members of the Croswell Opera House, speak on “Summer Cultural Activities in Lenawee County and the Surrounding Area.”
  
  
• Tuesday, June 12, 2018: “Best Summer Reads” is presented by a representative of the Adrian District Library. Come and share your own favorite books.
  
  
• Tuesday, July 10, 2018: A representative of the First Federal Bank in Adrian offers “Investments 101: Do’s and Don’ts for First Time Investors”
  
  
• Tuesday, August 14, 2018: Storyteller Jan McVeigh presents stories of Lenawee County’s early history.

Lunch N Learn is a free program, open to all. Registration is not required. Weber Center is on the campus of the Adrian Dominican Sisters’ Motherhouse, 1257 E. Siena Heights Drive, Adrian. April 12, 2018, Adrian, Michigan – If you have never gardened but would love to get started, an upcoming hands-on workshop may be just what you need. Elaine Johnson, Permaculture Specialist for the Adrian Dominican Sisters, will offer the Beginners Gardener Workshop from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 2, 2018, at the Adrian District Library.

This free session will provide tips in such areas as seeds, plant selection, garden planning, ways to grow healthy plants, trouble-shooting, and soil health. Participants will receive complimentary seeds and resources to help them get started.
