April 12, 2018, Adrian, Michigan – If you have never gardened but would love to get started, an upcoming hands-on workshop may be just what you need. Elaine Johnson, Permaculture Specialist for the Adrian Dominican Sisters, will offer the Beginners Gardener Workshop from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 2, 2018, at the Adrian District Library.

This free session will provide tips in such areas as seeds, plant selection, garden planning, ways to grow healthy plants, trouble-shooting, and soil health. Participants will receive complimentary seeds and resources to help them get started.

March 23, 2018, Adrian, Michigan – As Spring approaches and the weather begins to get warmer, are you dreaming of spending your summer in your own garden? Do you long to grow your own vegetables but don’t have the land? Always wanted to start a garden, but don’t believe you have the skills?

Gardeners of all abilities are invited to a general interest meeting on Charlotte’s Web Community Garden. The meeting begins at 6:30 p.m. Monday, April 9, 2018, in the Conference Room of the Adrian District Library. The meeting will cover responsibilities of participating gardeners and how our experts can help you learn more about organic gardening.

Charlotte’s Web Community Garden, sponsored by the Adrian Dominican Sisters’ Permaculture Program, is located at the corner of East Siena Heights Drive and Howell Highway, on the property of the Adrian Dominican Sisters’ Motherhouse campus.
