September 5, 2019 – As human beings with the ability for self-reflection, we can learn much in our spiritual journey by reconnecting with nature or connecting at a deeper level. “Nature as Teacher, Mentor, and Model” encourages participants to spend time outside to explore what we can learn from nature. The program is offered from 7:00 p.m. Saturday, September 28, 2019 through 4:30 p.m. Sunday, September 29, 2019 at Weber Retreat and Conference Center.
Sister Gloria Rivera, IHM, will guide participants through the experience. Coordinator of Great Lakes Bioneers Detroit, an organization that supports sustainable communities, Sister Gloria believes that social justice and environmental justice are one movement. She holds a master’s degree in religious studies and will share what she has learned as a student for six years of biomimicry, which focuses on how human beings can apply nature’s patterns and strategies.
The cost, including meals and snacks, is $50 for commuters, $85 per person double-occupancy, and $125 single occupancy. Registration is required and is available at www.webercenter.org; click on “programs.” Registrations may also be made by contacting Weber Center at 517-266-4000 or [email protected].
