March 2, 2022, Adrian, Michigan – The General Council of the Adrian Dominican Sisters issued the following statement in support of Pope Francis’ call for prayer and fasting for the people of Ukraine.
We join Pope Francis in his call to make Ash Wednesday a day of prayer and fasting for peace in Ukraine – “a day to be close to the suffering of the people of Ukraine,” recognizing that “we are all brothers and sisters.”
As women of faith, we pray fervently that “the guns be silenced” throughout the world – and that the peace of God prevails.
