January 27, 2025, Wilmette, Illinois – Regina Dominican High School was recognized by the National Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association (NIAAA) for achieving an Exemplary Athletic Program through the Quality Program Assessment (QPA) at the National Athletic Directors Conference in Austin, Texas. The assessment took place in December.

Regina Dominican High School is the first school from Illinois and the first all-girls school nationally to earn the QPA. Last year, five schools earned this recognition. Since the program was launched in 2009, only 90 schools have been recognized nationally.

To earn this award, athletic departments must demonstrate excellence across 10 categories, including philosophy, mentoring, safety and risk management, access and equity, and sports medicine. Applications are reviewed by members of the NIAAA QPA Committee. 

“The QPA Award celebrates all of the great things that are done by our student body and coaches each and every day,” said Athletic Director Brian Mancuso. “I am very proud of our coaches and our school community for all of the work that they put in each and every day to help our entire student population. My hope is that everyone involved takes pride in this accomplishment as well.” 

The school was presented with a banner that will be on display in the gymnasium, as well as a plaque to celebrate this accomplishment.
