(1929 - 2015) Sister Ann Marie Meagher was born in Chicago on March 7, 1929. She was the youngest and the only girl of the six children born to William and Ann (Duggan) Meagher. Both parents were born in Ireland. Her father was a policemen and her mother a housewife whose health was seriously compromised by asthma and high blood pressure.

I remember Sister Ann Marie from Our Lady Queen of Martyrs. She was always a very loving person to her students. I don't recall her ever being mean to her students. She was a very good teacher. Because of her, Sr. Kathleen, and Sr. Jeanine, I have been a music director for the church for 50 years. They always encouraged me to follow my music ministry and do bring people closer to God through music. All of us who went to OLQM many many years ago have so much to be thankful for. To have these women dedicate their lives to helping us be good people is something I am sure God is very pleased with. Now, I am turning 65 and still directing music. My students over the years and those who I have led in song have also benefitted by what I have learned from these wonderful women. God bless all of them! They will be forever loved by those who were gifted by their love.
Our Adrian Dominican cemetery with its circular headstones is a beautiful place of rest for women who gave their lives in service to God — and a peaceful place for contemplation and remembrance.
