I recently came back to the church after a 30+ year absence. Tomorrow I am going to help decorate the altar of St. Thomas Moore for the first time since I was a young man. This Christmas season triggered a wonderful memory which led me to pour through an old box of pictures to find one special one. The picture I found is of Sister Frances sitting on the steps of the altar with me and my sister after the children’s Christmas Mass. I have the largest grin on my face, the reason being, I was sitting next to Sister Frances. That picture then led to a search for this memorial. My mother worked at the St. Thomas and she became close with Fr. Kerr and Sister Frances. While she wasn’t in my life physically for a very long time, Sister Frances’ amazing spirit, obviously has stayed with me, my entire life.I wanted to leave this in her memory.
Thank you for this wonderful tribute and memory of my Aunt Frankie. As you said she truly had an amazing spirit. I’m glad to know she had such an impression on you. Her loving and giving spirit and personality certainly touched this around her. God bless you, Sister Frances’ niece
