(1925 - 2015) I will be confident and unafraid, for my strength and my song is the Lord.
Sister Patricia McGrath, known to her friends as Pat, was born on November 16, 1924, in Royal Oak, Michigan, to John and Genevieve (Kuntz) McGrath. She was the fifth of their nine children. Both parents were born and raised in Pennsylvania, and lived one hundred miles apart. In her biography, Sister Pat wrote, “We have not figured out how mom and dad met being that they lived one hundred miles apart. Someone suggested they met at a roller skating party.” Her parents lived in St. Marys, Pennsylvania, her mother’s birthplace, until after their fourth son was born and then they moved to Royal Oak, Michigan. In her biography, Sister Pat described this transition and the impact of the Depression on her family.

My thoughts and prayers are with Sr. Pat's family and Sister friends and crowd as she is laud at rest this day. She was a grand woman who gave so mush to beautifying the interior windows of our Campus buildings. Thanks Pat. Be at peace. Love. Jo
My sister Paulette and I had Sister Ann Maureen as our teacher when she was in first grade and I was in second in the same room at St. Mary School (Swanton). She was sooooo tall and an excellent teacher. My sister summed it up in six words, "She was my favorite teacher ever." I am sure there are many who share these sentiments.
Our Adrian Dominican cemetery with its circular headstones is a beautiful place of rest for women who gave their lives in service to God — and a peaceful place for contemplation and remembrance.
