In that first reading today, St. Paul exhorts the Colossians, and exhorts us, to clothe ourselves in Christian virtues. So many of them, as they were listed there, remind us of Therese. And at the end, he says “give thanks to God the Father,” and we do that in this funeral liturgy in a very unique way for the many, many ways we have experienced the presence and the love of God, the goodness of God, in her long life and ministry. I am so very grateful.
So spoke Father John “Jed” Patrick, who worked for many years with Sister Therese Reynolds at All Saints Parish in Gladstone, Michigan, in his homily as he concelebrated Therese's funeral Mass on July 13, 2018.
Sister Therese spent eighteen years, many of them alongside Father Patrick, at All Saints as its coordinator of music and liturgy, and in his homily Father Patrick remembered her for her respect of other people and their gifts; for her encouraging way, contagious smile, and positive attitude; and as someone who greatly loved her Adrian Dominican community and treasured the support and connection her Sisters gave her.

Therese, Sal and I were the Michigan Dominicans that occupied the upper corner of the Sabbatical House on Mecox Bay - Waternill, NY.in 2002. Therese and I chose to take many weekend rides on the Jitney to NY and we shared many stories on our country walks together. I am very glad that we post a common Dominican In Memoriam announcement. Therese and I were on sabbatical together in Watermill, NY. We became good friends and kept in touch over the yeas. She visited me in TX and I visited her in WI. We talked on the phone frequently taking turns with the calls. I will miss her, but I know she's not in pain, and is now at peace. Sister Therese was an important part of growing my faith as a teenager at All Saints in Gladstone MI. No and I sang in the church choir, which she intelligently and patiently directed. She was my sponsor for me to attend a Cursillo weekend at Marygrove Retreat Center, which was life changing for me. A kind heart and gentle soul, Sister Therese you will never be forgotten! What a wonderful tribute for Therese Reynolds! I never saw most of those pictures. We were never missioned together! It brings back so many memories. I especially love the high school skating picture! How young we were! Is there any chance of obtaining a copy of Jubilee Picture of Divine Providence Crowd? I would pay to have a copy.
