November 8, 2018, Adrian, Michigan – In Western Christian traditions, the O Antiphons – which begin with a name of Christ, such as O Wisdom and O Key of David – are prayed the week before Christmas. Dominican Father Martin Iott, OP, leads an Advent Retreat, The O Antiphons: Prayers of Desire and Promise, from 6:30 p.m. Sunday, December 2, 2018, through noon Friday, December 7, 2018.
Father Martin guides participants in exploring and embracing the spirituality of hopes and dreams expressed in the Hebrew Scriptures and found in the O Antiphons.
A Dominican Friar of the Southern Province, Father Martin has been engaged for 30 years in the ministry of preaching retreats and parish missions.
The cost for the event – which includes meals and snacks – is $220 for commuters, $320 per person for double occupancy, and $420 for single occupancy. Registration is required.

August 14, 2018, Adrian, Michigan – Mary, the Mother of Jesus and a woman of faith, lived in dangerous times in a small country occupied by the Roman Empire. She has much to say to us, Catholics and Protestants, as we deal with the dangers and darkness of our time.
“Mary: Model of Faith for Contemporary Times,” offers participants the opportunity to explore who Mary is for them in our contemporary world. The retreat begins at 6:30 p.m. Friday, August 24, and ends at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, August 25. Sister Joan Delaplane, OP – a preacher, retreat director, and spiritual director – presents the material on Mary and gives retreatants opportunities to pray together, share with one another, and spend quiet time in reflection.
