February 16, 2016, Detroit – At the time of the disastrous water crisis in Flint, Michigan, families across the state in another troubled city – Detroit – have reached out in support. Adrian Dominican Sister Nancyann Turner, OP, director of the Rosa Parks Children and Youth Program at the Capuchin Soup Kitchen in Detroit, writes in her blog of how the families in Detroit have reached through letters and prayers to their counterparts at the St. Luke N.E.W. Life Center in Flint. Founded in 2002 by Adrian Dominican Sister Carol Weber, OP, and Sister Judy Blake, CSJ, a Sister of St. Joseph, N.E.W. Life offers a variety of services to the people of Flint, from a literacy center to a food pantry and a commercial sewing program.

February 15, 2016, Houston, Texas – Sister Mary Soher, OP, Co-Executive Director of National Catholic Sisters Week (NCSW), speaks in a radio interview about her call to religious life, and specifically to the Adrian Dominican Sisters. During the interview on KSHJ AM 1430 Radio in Houston, Texas, she also encourages her audience to participate in National Catholic Sisters Week (March 8-14) to learn more about the lives of Catholic Sisters and to come to know some of them personally.
