May 31, 2019, Adrian, Michigan – Members of the Lenawee County community engaged in a deep, personal discussion of white privilege and racism, thanks to a special May 16 program sponsored by the Adrian Dominican Sisters, the City of Adrian Human Relations Commission, the Lenawee Branch of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP), and the Southeastern Michigan Migrant Resource Council. After listening to the panel discussion on the topic, participants shared their own experiences and understanding of racism and white privilege among others in small groups. May 28, 2019, Adrian, Michigan – In response to recent concerns about the quality of water in Lenawee County, Michigan, Pam Taylor of Environmentally Concerned Citizens of South Central Michigan gave a presentation on water quality May 14 at Weber Retreat and Conference Center. Pam spoke of various practices that can affect the safety and quality of water, such as the use of concentrated animal feeding operations and fertilizers and encouraged local citizens to be advocates for clean, safe water.
