By Will Searcy Director of Marketing and Communications, Rosarian Academy
February 15, 2022, West Palm Beach, Florida – Rosarian Academy students were recently featured in The Palm Beach Daily News as students set up a display of portraits by local artist Claire Salmon in honor of Black History Month.
The portraits came to Rosarian through the Kijana Educational Empowerment Initiative – begun as a collaboration between the Benjamin School in North Palm Beach and the Kenyan communities of Ebusioli and Essaba to promote the development of education and cross-cultural dialogue.
Through the initiative, Claire Salmon created portraits of “Kijana Heroes,” people throughout history who have set an example of courage in effecting changes that benefit society. The portraits are on display in Rosarian Academy’s Arrigo Hall, offering educational opportunities to students throughout the month.
