By Eleanor Schmerler-Rich ’09 Vice President of Growth Regina Dominican High School
August 29, 2024, Wilmette, Illinois – Members of the Regina Dominican High School community celebrated Mass and the Installation Ceremony of its new President, Krista Gallagher. The event on Sunday, August 25, 2024, included school faculty, staff, current families, students, alumnae, supporters, and family and friends of Krista Gallagher.
Leading the installation ceremony were Sister Mary Margaret Pachucki, OP, representing the Adrian Dominican Sisters, and Kristin Melley, Executive Director of Dominican Veritas Ministries. Mass was presided by Father Peter Wojcik of St. Clement Parish, with concelebrants Father Wayne Watts and Father Robert Ryan, both of Saints Joseph and Francis Xavier Parish.
“As I learned more and more about Regina Dominican, I found that the Dominican pillars of prayer, study, community, and service are at the heart of what makes this place so special,” President Gallagher said. “The power of single-sex education is immense. In today’s world, all-girls schools are single-sex by design and their impact on girls is meaningful.”
The Regina Dominican Board of Directors in May 2024 announced Krista Gallagher as the school’s next President. She holds a bachelor’s degree from Duke University and an MBA from the Kellogg School at Northwestern University. Her work experience at McKinsey & Company and JPMorgan Chase adds strength to her impressive credentials.
She brings a dynamic blend of leadership and marketing expertise, along with a wealth of experience and a deep commitment to the values and mission of Regina Dominican’s Catholic educational community.
During her remarks, Krista amplified the impact that Regina Dominican High School has on students and the importance of the school within the North Shore community. “Regina Dominican takes that all-girls strength and wraps it in the envelope of Dominican values,” she said. “Truth-seeking, independent thinking, and compassionate leadership are reinforced in every team, in every classroom, and at every event. There is no greater source of confidence than the knowledge that God placed you here for a reason. Regina girls know that they are valued.”
Regina Dominican kicked off the 65th school year since its founding by Adrian Dominican Sisters in 1958.
