September 26, 2022, Wilmette, Illinois – Regina Dominican High School – an all-girls school sponsored by the Adrian Dominican Sisters – was one of several schools profiled in a recent issue of Crain’s Chicago Business for its efforts to prepare students to thrive in a multi-cultural world.
The school has a commitment “rooted in Catholic social teaching,” to uphold justice and the dignity of all people, said Regina Dominican’s Principal, Dr. Kathleen Porreca. The Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Club sponsors regular activities, such as the viewing of a documentary – followed by discussion – on civil rights activist and football star Colin Kaepernick.
Students in grades 10 to 12 can apply to take courses through the Global Online Academy – of which Regina Dominican High School is a member, among more than 100 independent schools globally. The program allows the students to meet, study, and engage with peers around the world.
