Very soon, we in Adrian hope to welcome women interested in exploring Dominican vowed life. 

Many women who are pondering how they might best live their commitment to the Gospel, have not had the opportunity to discuss their questions with professed Sisters. For the most part, the “faces” of Sisters are not nearly as evident as they were decades ago, when most Sisters wore veils and long habits and were known as women who taught in the parish schools or worked in Catholic hospitals.

While the number of religious Sisters has certainly diminished, and while many of us are not as easily recognizable by our dress as we had been, be assured that religious life is alive and well! And because the Adrian Dominican Sisters are deeply committed to welcoming women to discern their call with us, we invite you to join us in Adrian, Michigan, the weekend of October 14-16. You will be our guests in our lovely retreat and conference building, Weber Center.

During the weekend, you will have the opportunity to pray with us, share meals and conversation, hear the stories of how some of us discerned our call to Dominican life, and listen to some of the incredible ministries our Sisters have been engaged in throughout their religious life.

Muy pronto, en Adrián, esperamos dar la bienvenida al campus a mujeres interesadas en explorar la vida consagrada Domínica.

Muchas mujeres que están reflexionando sobre cómo podrían vivir mejor su compromiso al Evangelio, no han tenido la oportunidad de discutir sus preguntas con hermanas profesas. En su mayor parte, los “rostros” de las hermanas no son tan evidentes como lo eran hace décadas, cuando la mayoría de las hermanas usaban velos y hábitos largos y eran conocidas como mujeres que enseñaban en las escuelas parroquiales o trabajaban en hospitales católicos.

Aunque el número de hermanas religiosas ciertamente ha disminuido, y aunque muchas de nosotras no somos tan fácilmente reconocibles por nuestra vestimenta como antes, ¡tengan la seguridad de que la vida religiosa está viva! Y debido a que las Hermanas Domínicas de Adrián están profundamente comprometidas a dar la bienvenida a las mujeres para que disciernan su llamado con nosotras, las invitamos a unirse a nosotras en Adrián, Michigan, el fin de semana del 14 al 16 de octubre. Serán nuestras invitadas en nuestro encantador edificio de retiro y conferencias, Weber Center.

Durante el fin de semana, tendrá la oportunidad de orar con nosotras, compartir comidas y conversaciones, escuchar las historias de cómo algunas de nosotras discernimos nuestro llamado a la vida Domínica y escuchar algunos de los increíbles ministerios en los que nuestras hermanas se han comprometido a lo largo de su vida religiosa.
