We were strongly reminded of light in last Sunday’s Scripture readings – “your light shall break forth like the dawn…” “Light shines through the darkness for the upright”, “I am the light of the world, says the Lord; whoever follows me will have the light of life” and “You are the light of the world... Nor do they light a lamp and then put it under a bushel basket; it is set on a lamp stand, where it gives light to all in the house.”



Every time light is mentioned it points to God who is traveling life with us and deeply desires to draw all of us closer! Following the light takes time, silence, conversations with trusted and wise others and deep listening. These actions – quiet, trusted talking and listening – help us understand where God is drawing us. Sometimes we hear only where the next step is, then when we’re ready, the next and the next.

La Luz Llama La Atención

Se nos recordó fuertemente de la luz en las lecturas de las escrituras del Domingo pasado: “tu luz brillará como el alba…” “La luz brilla en las tinieblas para los rectos”, “Yo soy la luz del mundo, dice el Señor; el que me sigue tendrá la luz de la vida” y “Vosotros sois la luz del mundo... Tampoco encienden una lámpara y luego la ponen debajo de un celemín; está puesto sobre un candelero, donde alumbra a todos los que están en casa.

¡Cada vez que se menciona la luz, apunta a Dios que está viajando la vida con nosotras y desea profundamente acercarse a todas! Seguir la luz requiere tiempo, silencio, conversaciones con personas sabias y de confianza y una escucha profunda. Estas acciones – el hablar y escuchar tranquilamente y con confianza - nos ayudan a entender hacia dónde nos está atrayendo Dios. A veces solo escuchamos dónde está el siguiente paso, luego, cuando estamos listas, el siguiente y el siguiente.
