One of the challenges we have today is to shift from a viewpoint of immediate and quick results – like we get when we reheat food in the microwave – to the longer view of life. It takes more time than a few seconds or minutes for some things to develop. For those decisions, seeds and how they grow, hold more promise.

This is true when we’re trying to figure out, or discern, where God is enticing us to spend our lives. It is worth investing time in praying, thinking, talking with trusted others, and journaling. Where would you make the best use of the gifts God gave you? Where are the people whose needs move you enough so that you want to respond to them in some way? It’s your life you’re thinking about!

Life decisions aren’t made quickly. They deserve your best time. You won’t regret taking it. Las Microondas Dan Forma a Nuestras Expectativas

Uno de los desafíos que tenemos hoy en día es cambiar del punto de vista de resultados inmediatos y rápidos – como los que obtenemos cuando recalentamos comida en el horno de microondas, a una visión más amplia de la vida. Toma más tiempo que unos pocos segundos o minutos para que algunas cosas se desarrollen. Para esas decisiones, las semillas y cómo crecen son más prometedoras.

Esto es cierto cuando estamos tratando de entender, o discernir, dónde Dios nos está impulsando a pasar nuestras vidas. Definitivamente vale la pena invertir tiempo en orar, pensar, hablar con otras personas de confianza y escribir en un diario. ¿Dónde haría el mejor uso de los dones que Dios le dio? ¿Dónde están las personas cuyas necesidades la mueven lo suficiente como para querer responderles de alguna manera? ¡Es su vida en lo que está pensando!

Las decisiones de la vida no se toman rápidamente. Se merecen lo mejor de su tiempo. No se arrepentirá de haberlo hecho.
