On August 8th Dominicans from around the world celebrated the Feast of St. Dominic, the founder of the Order of Preachers. In this week’s blog I would like to share with you the reflection, one of our novices, Sister Katherine Frazier, gave at our morning prayer celebration.

Blessings, Sister Sara
You are very much Dominican and I do understand your plans to preach and interact as St. Dominic did during his life.I wish you happiness in your vocation. But with so many Associate Dominicans now joining the Adrian Dominicans, why not be an Associate Dominican Woman who lives at the Motherhouse? There are a great many Adrian Dominican Sisters who remained single and adopted children; or who married a male or female partner. The only problem you may not foresee is a permanent break with your family of origin as a vowed Sister. I hope you will look closely at St. Dominic's life iand his relationships w his biological parents and siblings. I hope that he didn't exclude them from his Dominican Ministry. I hope that they were the family God gave him to first without reservations. Children are a gift from God..to parents and siblings.we are who were called to be bynAlmighty God. Best wishes and lifetime happiness following your heart.
