“…the crowd…got into boats and came to Capernaum looking for Jesus. And when they found him across the sea…”  John 6:24-25

A discernment journey is a deep search for belonging, but even more it is a search with and for Jesus in your life. Much like the crowds who went to lots of trouble to find Jesus, you must trouble yourself to find where you are called.

Like those “crowds,” you may have to find the vehicles that ultimately get you to a place of finding Jesus, waiting for you. In the process you’ll discover he may be found in many places; there are many ways to give yourself in a life of service.

If the call you sense is for service through a religious life commitment, then keep searching to find which community fits your gifts, your longings to serve and the relationships in community living. It can take a while, so patience has to be part of the journey. You may not need a “crowd” to travel with, but it helps to seek along with others so you can learn from them. This October 8-10 we will provide a prayerful, reflective experience with a group of seekers who are considering whether theirs is a call to be a Dominican Sister. Para Encontrar Pertenencia

“… La multitud… subió a los barcos y fueron a Capernaum buscando a Jesús. Y cuando lo encontraron al otro lado del mar… ” Juan 6:24-25

La jornada del discernimiento es una búsqueda profunda de pertenecer, pero más aún es una búsqueda con y para Jesús en tu vida. Al igual que las multitudes que hicieron mucho esfuerzo para encontrar a Jesús, debe esforzarse por encontrar su llamado.  

Al igual que esas "multitudes", es posible que tenga que encontrar las formas que finalmente la llevarán a un lugar donde encontrar a Jesús, esperándola. En el proceso, descubrirá que se le puede encontrar en muchos lugares; hay muchas formas de entregarse a una vida de servicio.

Si el llamado que siente es al servicio a través de un compromiso de vida religiosa, continúe buscando para encontrar cuál comunidad se adapte a sus dones, sus anhelos de servir y las relaciones en la vida comunitaria. Puede tomra tiempo, por lo que la paciencia debe formar parte de la jornada. Es posible que no necesite un “grupo” con la que viaje, pero es útil buscar junta con otras para que pueda aprender de ellas. Este 8-10 de Octubre proveeremos una experiencia de oración y reflexión con un grupo de buscadoras que están considerando si el suyo es un llamado a ser una Hermana Domínica.
