(1920 – 2014)
Sister Frances Ellen Bowery, born September, 14, 1920, in West Palm Beach, Florida, was the fourth of eight children. In her autobiography, she wrote, “We were baptized and brought up Methodist although there was a spot of Catholicity on Mom’s side, for her mother had been raised Catholic.”

(1926 – 2014)
Sister Mary Therese Golden was born on November 28, 1926, in Chicago, to Eugene and Frances (Madigan) Golden; she was the fourth of seven children. They were members of Our Lady of Good Counsel and the children attended the parish school. Mary Therese then attended Loretto Englewood Academy, staffed by the Ladies of Loretto. “I thoroughly enjoyed my high school days…but I always found my way back to the Adrians at Good Counsel,” Sister Therese noted in her autobiography.

Sister Louise, formerly known as Sister Mary Alexander, was born on May 13, 1934, in Detroit, to Alexander and Marion (Janeczko) Borgacz. In 1951, Louise graduated from New Haven High School in New Haven, Michigan, and three years later entered the postulate in Adrian.

In her homily at the funeral liturgy for Sister Paul Therese Kraus, Sister Joella Miller shared this remembrance.

Sister Paul Therese was a woman who loved the Congregation and could honestly say, “I was never anywhere that I didn’t love the nuns or the people that taught in school. They were all so nice. I’ve had a really happy life, except for the times I lost members from my family.” 

Sister Paul Therese was born on February 4, 1917, in Detroit to Paul and Theresa (Lusch) Kraus. She was the youngest of five children.
