(1946 - 2015) Sister Melba Beine, born on January 5, 1946, in Yates Center, Kansas, was the middle daughter of the three girls born to Walter and Jeanette (Trusler) Beine. Her father came from a family of farmers and operated a grain elevator. Her mother was a homemaker and a musician who played the church organ at First Presbyterian.
