November 1, 2017, Wilmette, Illinois – Junior high school students learned the importance of mindset during the annual Junior High Leadership Conference, held October 20 at Regina Dominican High School. More than 100 students from 12 local grade schools attended the event, sponsored by Regina Dominican in collaboration with Notre Dame College Prep.
The day began with a keynote address by Bridget Venturi Veenema, a 1984 alumna of Regina Dominican, as well as the school’s former athletic director, former member of the USA Baseball team, and former American Gladiator. Bridget is now a professional trader.
In her talk, “Hit your Best Shot,” Bridget spoke about her perseverance through some of her life challenges and how her mindset dictated her success in life.
After lunch, the Student Council officers of Regina Dominican and Notre Dame led the conference participants in leadership-based small group exercises on topics such as public relations, communications, global citizenship, leadership, spirit, and service.
