April 14, 2025, Wilmette, Illinois – The Regina Dominican High School Robotics Team, known as the “Regina Riveters,” made an extraordinary impact at the first Robotics Competition Midwest Regional, securing 28th place out of 38 teams. The competition – which featured a remarkable lineup of seven international teams from Croatia, Mexico, China, Japan, Türkiye, and India – showcased fierce competition and innovation in robotics.
In addition to their ranking, the Regina Riveters were honored with the Team Spirit Award, recognizing their unwavering enthusiasm, dedication, and exceptional teamwork. This embodies the true spirit of the competition. The team's positive energy and collaborative attitude left a lasting impression on both competitors and event organizers.
Members of the Regina Riveters also received the “Gracious Professionalism” recognition pin. This award was given to the team for their assistance to another team, which did not have enough students to drive their robot. The Riveters' willingness to lend a helping hand and exemplify kindness and cooperation in the robotics community is a testament to what it means to be a Regina Dominican Girl!
The Regina Dominican community also congratulates the Regina Riveters for their exceptional performance at the event. The Regina Riveters are also incredibly proud to have been the only all-girls team represented at this prestigious competition, breaking barriers and inspiring future generations of female engineers, innovators, and leaders.
With their dedication, teamwork, and perseverance, the Regina Riveters continue to inspire and set a new standard for excellence in robotics. We look forward to their future achievements and continued success in the world of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM).
