"As you go, make this proclamation: 'The Kingdom of heaven is at hand.' Cure the sick, raise the dead, cleanse the lepers, drive out demons. Without cost you have received; without cost you are to give.” 
(Mt 10.7-8)
 
The words of Jesus quoted in Matthew’s Gospel, spoken long ago to his disciples as he sent them out to minister to the people they encountered, have meaning today too. As with the disciples, our commitment to persons in need is where we are sent. Jesus affirmed the disciples as going in his name to the people who needed what they would bring.

As Dominicans we respond together to needs as we perceive them in the “signs of the times”, another way of saying the needs of the people in society today. Among so many needs calling for attention and resolution, there are choices to make. We can meet some of the needs. Others can meet some of the needs. With honest dialogue and prayer among us, we respond to needs as it is possible to do. We are always conscious there is more to do and we trust that God continues to call other disciples to be part of the mission!

Te Estoy Enviando
Las palabras de Jesús citadas en el Evangelio de Mateo, pronunciadas hace mucho tiempo a sus discípulos cuando los envió a ministrar a las personas con las que se encontraban, también tienen significado hoy. Al igual que con los discípulos, nuestro compromiso con las personas necesitadas es donde somos enviados. Jesús afirmó que los discípulos iban en su nombre a las personas que necesitaban lo que traerían.
 
Como Domínicas respondemos juntas a las necesidades tal como las percibimos en las “señales de los tiempos”, otra forma de decir las necesidades de las personas en la sociedad actual. Entre tantas necesidades que requieren atención y resolución, hay elecciones que hacer. Podemos satisfacer algunas de las necesidades. Otros pueden satisfacer algunas de las necesidades. Con el diálogo honesto y la oración entre nosotras, respondemos a las necesidades como es posible. ¡Siempre estamos conscientes de que hay más por hacer y confiamos en que Dios continúe llamando a otras discípulas a ser parte de la misión!
